The MZ1080 contactor is a control device for permanent magnet DC motors. The pre-assembled group makes electrical connections quick and easy. Low consumption powering from 10 to 30 VDC, the contactors are shockproof and resistant to marine corrosion thanks to their IP 56 self-extinguishing polyester resin casing.
The MZ1030 adapter is a useful addition to 12V MZ relays as it can power any 12V relay from 10 to 30V, hence reducing the current absorbed the coil by up to 70% of the rated value.
The MZ1030 device is particularly important in this type of application, as the relay works for a long time, even hours, and always when the motor is running, and therefore is under a tension of about 14 Volts. This can cause the coil to overheat. MZ1030, once the relay is engaged and the contact is closed, reduces the voltage on the coil to about 8-9 Volts, keeping the relay engaged but avoiding overheating due to higher voltages.
